Mobil yang diberi nama ‘Lira’ itu, seperti nama mata uang Lebanon, dirancang oleh Houssami yang sebelumnya merupakan produsen peralatan industri.

Mobil Lira ini dapat ditenagai oleh listrik atau melalui panel surya.

Gagasan untuk merancang dan membuat mobil sendiri terlintas di benak pria berusia 46 tahun itu saat melihat kesulitan warga Lebanon mendapatkan bahan bakar untuk mobil mereka di tengah kelangkaan energi akibat krisis keuangan.
