Para petani garam di wilayah ini menghadapi masalah serius, mulai dari cuaca yang tidak menentu hingga menyusutnya lahan produksi akibat erosi pantai sebagai dampak perubahan iklim.

Dalam sehari, setiap kelompok petani menghasilkan 10-15 kg garam dan menjualnya seharga 1 USD/kg untuk pasar lokal.

Pada tahun 2022, pemerintah membangun tanggul laut, tetapi terkadang tidak mampu menahan gelombang besar yang datang dan merusak lahan produksi garam mereka.
